Mountainside
A family farm built on heritage and hard work.
Our farm is located on the side of a mountain in the ridge and valley region of western Maryland, between the Blue Ridge and Catoctin mountains. Our pastures are surrounded by woods and criss-crossed with old stone fences, built by farmers of the past. Farming has been part of our lives since childhood, and we've been on this beautiful mountain land since 2012.
Our herd consists of a colorful blend of crossbred cattle, featuring Angus, Devon, and Charolais genetics. We raise our cattle on pasture and mixed- grass hay, with a small ration of grain for improving animal growth and producing lightly marbled, high-quality meat.
Summers on the farm involve making hay and straw, small grain farming, working in the garden, and hosting our many nieces and nephews. Our dog Charlie enjoys swims in the pond and relaxing on the porch. See the pictures below to get a glimpse of our life on the mountain.
